The Adkhār Of Standing Up After Rukū'
THE ADKHĀR OF STANDING UP AFTER RUKŪ'
Sami' Allāhu liman ḥamdah
Allāh hears the one who praises Him
Then he ﷺ would say while standing upright
1)
Rabbanā wa-laka al-Ḥamd
Our Lord and to You be all the praise.
Or
2)
Rabbanā laka al-Ḥamd
Our Lord, to You be all the praise
And sometimes he ﷺ used to add at the beginning of the two statements
3), 4)
Allāhumma
O Allāh
Sometimes he ﷺ used to add to the above statements,
5)
Mil' as-samāwāti wa [mil'] al-arḍ wa mil mā shi'ta min shay'in ba'd
(A praise that) Fills the heavens and the earth and whatever You will after that.
Or add
6)
Mil' as-samāwāti wa [mil'] al-arḍ wa mā baynahumā wa mil mā shi'ta min shay'in ba'd
(A praise that) Fills the heavens and the earth and whatever You will after that.
And sometimes he ﷺ used to add to the statements,
7)
Ahlath thanā wal-Majdi, lā mani'a limā a'ṭayta wa lā mu'ṭiya limā mana'ta wa lā yanfa'u thal jaddi minkal jadd
(You Allāh) are most worthy of Praise and Majesty, there's none who may deny us what You give and none who may give what You deny. The might of the mighty person will not benefit (him) against You.
Or say
8)
Ahlath thanā wal-Majdi, aḥaqqu mā qāl al-'abdu wa kulluna laka 'abdun [Allāhumma] lā mani'a limā a'ṭayta wa lā mu'ṭiya limā mana'ta wa lā yanfa'u thal jaddi minkal jadd
(A praise that) Fills the heavens and the earth and whatever You will after that (You Allāh) are most worthy of praise and majesty and what the slave has said - we are all Your slaves. Oh Allāh, there's none who may deny us what you give and none who may give what You deny. The might of the mighty person will not benefit (him) against You.
Sometimes he ﷺ would add the following during night prayer,
9)
Li Rabbi al-Ḥamdu, li Rabbi al-Ḥamdu
To my Lord is the praise, to my Lord is the praise
10)
Rabbanā wa laka al-ḥamdu, ḥamdan kathīran ṭayyiban, mubārakan fīhi mubārakan 'alayhi kamā yuḥibbu Rabbunā wa yarḍā
Our Lord praise is Yours, abundant, good and blessed praise, externally blessed, as our Lord loves and is pleased with.
A man was praying behind the Prophet ﷺ said this statement after he had raised his head from rukū' and had said When the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ finished his prayer he said; "Who was the one speaking just now?" The man replied "O Messenger of Allāh! It was I!" So the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said "I saw more than thirty Angels racing each other to be the first one to write it down"
